Coronavirus Update 2 and AGM Procedure

Since my update of 17th March the Government have given clear instructions about social gatherings and how we all have to ‘do our bit’ and stay at home to slow down the spread of Coronavirus.

Our rules state that an AGM must be held between 1st March and May 31st (Rule 14)

However, the committee have concluded that holding an Annual General Meeting would be irresponsible and therefore we have agreed on an email AGM so we can install the new officers and provide you with reports that would have normally been presented at the meeting.

The reports are attached to the newsletter for your information. 

To enable the approval of minutes and accounts and the election of officers there is a simple online voting form that can be completed. (Link valid until 17.00 2nd April 2020)

Sadly, the ceremony of handing over of the chains of office to the incoming Captain and President will not take place (not even by video link)! But we will perform this task at the first meeting once we are given the all clear about social gatherings.

In the meantime I am sure you will join me in wishing Keith Talbot and Dave Wilkins all the very best as Captain & President in what has become a difficult start to the season.

Finally, I will take this opportunity to advise you that events in May have also been cancelled including Professional’s Day at Copthorne and the match against Hampshire Captains.  Again, those who have entered and paid for their team entries should get in touch with me with their bank details for a refund. (Note.  If you had entered the Spring Meeting or Spring Mixed and have not contacted me about your entry fees - please do so now)

With regard to June events we are monitoring the ongoing situation and will be in contact as we know more.
