It was a fine Autumnal day at East Brighton Golf Club for the rescehduled Member’s Inviatation. One of the events that was effected by lockdown retrictions earlier in the year.
50 Captains and their guests were competing for The Arthur Holder Trophy.
East Brighton was, as always, welcominmg and presented in top class condition. The field endured five-hour plus rounds towards the end which remains a mystery why play was so slow. However, it did not reflect on the scoring and some excellent results were returned.
The winners with 47 points were NIgel Wates and his guest Geoff Smith from the Nevill.
2nd were Peter Rodger from West Hove with Karl Nichibar from East Sussex National with 45 points (back 9 24) Karl was part of the winning pair in 2019 (with Kevin Heanen) when the event was last played.
3rd also with 45 points were local duo of Paul Crompton and Murray Simpson (back 9 23)
4th was another East Brighton pairing of SGC Captain, Keith Talbot and his last minute stand-in guest Andy Lees. They had 43 points.
Nearest the pins for the guests on the 4th won by Neil Cockerill from Cottesmore and on the 7th, Peter Galbraith from the Nevill.
For the Captains it was Mitch Clark of Haywards Heath on the 2nd and Peter Rodger of West Hove on the 16th.
The 10th nearest the pin was for all those playing and won by John Washer, Captain of Ham Manor.
