Trevor Pigram (centre) & Nigel Powell (R) with 2017 Captain, Brian Street

A beautiful Spring day welcomed the 72 pairs playing in the Spring Meeting, the first event of 2017.

Captains from 22 different clubs were represented and 9 new members were playing for the first time.

As usual we received a warm welcome from The Nevill and the course was presented in excellent condition.

The winners of the Spring Meeting were Trevor Pigram and Nigel Powell from Cottesmore with 42 points.

Second, also with 42 points were Bob Walker and Clive Dench from Copthorne just losing out on the back nine.

Third place with 41 points were Andy Selsby and Trevor Greenfield from Pyecombe who had a better back 6 than Arthur Nicholls and John Maynard from Willingdon also with 41 in fourth.

Fifth were last years winners, Nigel Wates and Bryan Fairbrass (Nevill)  also with 41 points.

Club Captain, Richard Wilson welcomed everyone before ties were awarded to the new captains and the AGM got on the way.

The AGM saw Brian Street from Cowdray Park take over from Ian Jaggard as Captain.  Unfortunately incoming President, Eddie Noyce gave his apologies as he was in hospital awaiting surgery.  We all wished him well and look forward to him attending a meeting when fit.

Peter Ward from Brighton & Hove became Vice Captain and a new Tony Bauckham from West Sussex (a past Captain of Mannings Heath) joins the committee.
