Diamond Jubilee at Cooden Beach

Inaugurated shortly after the Queens Diamond Jubilee in 2012 this competition is a triangular between Kent, London and Sussex.  Each county play a team of 12 with the best 10 scores to count.  It is played as a singles Stableford off full handicap.

This year Sussex were hosts and held at Cooden Beach Golf Club.

The winners with 353 points were the Kent Golf Captains with Sussex just 5 behind with 348.  London were third with 334.

Steve Grubb from Shooters Hill Golf Club managed a hole-in-one on the 7th which no doubt helped Kent secure their victory.  Steve kindly bought Port for all to celebrate in ace and in return his was awarded a Cooden Beach Hole-In-One silk tie.

After a first class dinner, Sussex Captain, Brian Street thanked Cooden Beach Past Captain, Archie Fairlie for stepping in at short notice as their Captain was unable to play. He also thanked Graham White, General Manager for his help and overseeing the collection of score cards and Starter, Gordon Findley.

As London were the holders their Captain, John Marr was invited to present the trophy (donated by Derek Burridge) to William Albery from Kent Captains.
